How To: Behind Gweilo’s Scene

Hiya !

This How To is a special edition for all the authors that think that we forgot or don’t like their works. Don’t be frustrated, you will see throughout this Step by Step guide how things are really going behind the scene and how much time it takes for a piece to be published.

And yes, if you ever wonder about how your piece of work is being treated, don’t hesitate and send us an email.

As we have many works, including some that we received a very long time ago that we really must publish in priority, your work might take some time to be published, we sincerely apologize for that.

Kisses on your forehead,

Jess (Artistic Team Director)

  • Receive a piece of writing from a lovely contributor

  • Put it in the “To Edit” folder under an editor’s name: here, we check the spelling and grammar to be sure there are no mistakes. (might take a week)

  • After the editor checked the writing, he puts it in the “To Illustrate” folder.

  • Here’s where I come in action: I read and re-read and re-re-read the text and contact THE Gweilo illustrator that I think might like it the most. Usually, I send two or more choices of illustrations to the artist. (it takes around 2 to 3 weeks to get a piece illustrated)

  • After the illustration is done, I put it in the “On The Schedule” Folder under someone’s name: This is where we write the intros before the text and the illustration is published.

  • When the intro is done, we put it in the “To Publish” folder: the piece is ready to be published !
